Meta Ads vs Google Ads for Lead Generation
By Nitish Pandey · 23 February 2026 · 5 min read
Meta Ads and Google Ads are often compared as if one is simply better, but they generally serve different moments in a customer's decision process.
Google Ads: capturing existing intent
Google Search Ads reach people actively searching for a solution right now. This tends to produce leads with clearer intent, but the cost per click can be higher for competitive keywords.
Meta Ads: creating awareness and demand
Meta Ads reach people based on interests and behavior, not active search — useful for reaching an audience that doesn't yet know they have the problem you solve, but the leads may need more nurturing before they're ready to buy.
Using both together
A common approach is using Meta to build awareness and retarget website visitors, while using Google Ads to capture people already searching — with both funnels feeding the same CRM so you can see which channel actually produces customers, not just leads.
